Easter Weekend Egg Drawing!
Welcome to Ma's Got'a Notion
Here at Ma's, we got your back...quilt back, that is!!!
The weather is warmer, and it seems Spring may indeed be here at last! I know I am ready for it. The nicer weather will have the littles out sweeping the yard to fill their baskets with what that old Easter Bunny may have dropped when he bounced through their yard!
I do not think only the littles should have all the fun; I believe grown-up quilters should also get to pick an egg out of a basket! So...if you stop by Ma's on Good Friday, April 18, from 10 - 5 or Saturday, April 19, from 10 - 4, you can pull an egg from the basket on the counter for significant savings. In the egg you draw, you will find one of the following savings:

20% off 3 yds of wide backing

Yes, 18 filled eggs with one of the above tucked inside! It’s a never-ending drawing those two days because we will recycle the eggs both days!!! What a great 2 days to save on something or several things you have been wanting to get!
I will do a quick update on my hubby; he has been back in the hospital going on his 10th day, this being his 6th hospital stay since mid-February. He had another surgery this past Monday. He has had a rough start to 2025. His weight as of yesterday is down from 218 lbs to 164 lbs. He still has 2 or 3 more surgeries in his future if and when they can get the blood clots to be absorbed by his body. We were told during this hospital stay that he would be on blood thinners for the rest of his life, which is not a welcome diagnosis. His spirits are good. This last go around, he was in tremendous pain, but they got that under control in about the first 4 days of his stay. He said he has lost count of how many doctors come in and out his door. He is back to eating a solid diet, and his appetite has returned. Although he should be on a low-fat, salt-free diet, doctors say to let him eat what he wants (within reason). ???? they do not know my hubby. No one will tell him what he can and cannot eat! He is in Carle Hospital in Peoria, so I have made the trip over and back most days. When he gets home, he will not be able to be alone all day, so I will be in and out of the shop going home to check on him and make sure his pills gets taken, and he has a meal and snacks. Nine years ago, I decided, and he agreed, that we should sell our big home in Canton and find a small retirement home close to the shop in Havana. It was quite a change for us, but it has turned out to be a smart move. Only living about three blocks from the shop allows me to make a few treks daily home to check on him. I will also make you aware that Debbie's husband is facing some health issues, too. She may need to have some time off shortly as he, too, is facing some surgery. I mention this because, should that be the case, I will keep the shop open, but you may find a note on the shop around noon and then again around 3 pm that I have run home and will be back in a few min. I will put the time I left, and my return (it will not be long,) so feel free to grab lunch or visit one of the nearby shops until my return.
I hope to see you all in the coming days. If not, have a wonderful Easter holiday, and enjoy your family and friends. Should you travel, stay safe and be well!
