Welcome to Ma's Got'a Notion
Here at Ma's, we got your back...quilt back, that is!!!
I spent several hours at Best Buy this past week purchasing needed items to begin my dabbling in bringing the shop into your home through your laptop, desktop, iPad, or phone. Now, I need to learn how to use it. I hoped they had a guy who could come to the shop, set it all up, and say, "You do this, this, and this, and BOOM, you are now in the movie business!" That was not the case. Unless I stumble across someone willing to help an old lady out (I am willing to pay for the training), I am on my own! If you know someone savvy in video equipment, have them give me a ring! I will let you know when I am ready to say...LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION! I purchased equipment that will allow me to record what I want to show and tell you, which allows me to tape (the really big show, as Ed Sullivan used to say) and then post it for you to view at your pleasure. Whew, all the new technology gives me a bit of pause at my age! But I shall persevere and learn a new skill!
As you know, the USA has announced sizable tariffs on imported goods from many countries worldwide, including our closest allies. Whether these tariffs stay in place long-term or short-term, I want you to know that I will not be raising prices on the fabrics I have in stock or reorder. As most of us are doing, I will keep a vigilant holding pattern for now. I have plenty of fabrics in stock to fill the needs of most, if not all, of you. The quilt shop's quality fabrics come mainly from South Korea and Japan. I have been advised by a couple of my suppliers that what we have on order now will come at the promised prices; what does the future hold on goods after that? Who knows? Suppliers told me that they will revisit the cost of goods in May.
If you have had time to follow my Ma's Got'a Notion FaceBook page, you know that I try my best to keep you updated on all new arrivals at the shop. If you do not, please follow me at https://www.facebook.com/masgotanotion/ If you can't get by the shop, my online shop is open 24/7. https://www.masgotanotion.com/ I will try my very best to get your order out promptly. Orders placed on a weekday usually are mailed out that day. Weekend orders may need to wait till Monday arrives to be processed.
For those of you who are reproduction fabric lovers, as I am...I have Jo Morton's "Carolina" line in the shop. You may remember several years ago, when Jo was with Andover Fabrics, "Carolina" was produced, as were many of her other lines. Jo went over to Moda for a few years before she retired. Andover is now once again reproducing her older lines. I either have ordered or hope to order any of Jo's fabrics that Andover prints again. Of course, as I stated above, I will need to revisit my future orders based on rising costs. That said, I have yardage, fat quarters, and cut goods with the "Carolina" line. https://www.masgotanotion.com/iishop?form_version=2&showSearchResults=1&search_keyword=Carolina&image=Search
Here's a quick update on the hubs: he's doing so well. He has a very long road ahead, but he's holding his own right now. No surgeries can be done until he has completed at least six months of blood thinners (he was on three different prescription blood thinners, now on only two, so that is progress). In the fall, his doctors will all revisit the needed surgeries. As of right now, we are aware he will need three different ones. He is in great hands. He now has great physicians who are taking his health issues very seriously and helping him get through this waiting period. Thank you to all who have asked about him through messages or see me at the shop. I always pass on all goodwill cheers to him, and it tickles him.
Easter is just around the corner. On Saturday, April 19th, come into the shop and choose an Easter Egg for an added discount on your purchases that day. You may even select an egg with a free gift...who knows what kind of an egg that old Easter Bunny may lay at Ma's!
The weather will soon be warmer, and our cabin fever can be just a memory! Get out soon to the shop; nothing can compare to starting a new project, and here at Ma's, we have that next new project sitting on the shelf waiting for you!
Happy Easter to you all. Enjoy the family, and stop in the shop on Saturday, 4/19/25, to see what the bunny left behind for you!
