21 YEARS

Welcome to Ma's Got'a Notion
Here at Ma's, we got your back...quilt back, that is!!!

I know it has been a while since I messaged y'all. Life seems to take over sometimes. We have been busy with All Illinois Shop Hop the last couple of months. Then I found some used fabric shelves that fit more fabric on each shelf than the ones I had, so I bought eight of them. This made for a fine mess for over a week in the shop (we are still finding things to place in a different spot than where we first thought was an excellent place to begin with!) Our goal is to finish it all by the end of this week. Please keep good thoughts for us that we will accomplish this mission. We have been at it for almost two weeks. Deb and I are getting weary and will be happy to see the light at the end of the tunnel of this mess created by our free will! We have set Deb's hubby on a woodworking mission to make some new fat quarter units...I am sure he's pleased about that. ???? You will all agree that the space we have created between the units is incredible! Using a walker or a wheelchair, you can now maneuver most of the shop freely.

The Shop Hop is over, and I would like to thank everyone who took the time to visit Ma's shop. I hope many of you were able to see some new shops on the hop this year. It's like an Easter Egg hunt for quilters! But, now it is time to settle down and complete those projects. Once you complete them, you know who has your back—Ma, of course!

This year, I will celebrate my 21st year in business. I want to make sure all of my customers can participate in this celebration with some daily savings. I opened on October 31, 2003. This year, I want to celebrate for several days and give all my customers throughout those 21 years a chance to come and save!

Beginning on Oct. 15th through November 2nd, I will have daily savings of 21% off on items to be that day's special. I will announce on Facebook what that next-day particular sale will be on; "it will NOT be just one item," but a grouping of items. For instance, it may be a grouping of kits, a brand of fabrics, a particular group of colors, fat groupings, books, patterns, notions, or rulers. Who knows what I will pick for that day's sale? Whatever it is, I will make it worth your trip! I will have one constant daily special, which I will share later (you will not want to miss this one), so pay attention, quilters.

I am so thankful that at 72, I still work at a job I genuinely love. I could never be wholly retired; it's not in my DNA, but I enjoy my partial retirement. I am also grateful that Deb is younger than me and loves the job as much as I do. As long as she hangs around and runs the shop when I am AWOL, I can rest assured that all is well and that I have left y'all in good hands upon my return.

Watch "Ma's Facebook Page" for the sale specials for the next day. IE: watch the 15th for the 16th, 16th for the 17th, and so on. I will tell you about the 1st sale day on Tuesday, October 15th, in this email right NOW... 21% off  All Halloween fabrics, 1/2 yd. min. AND...Halloween/Fall Charm Square packages, AND all Cheddar color fabrics 1/2 yd. min. But you must be in the shop on the 15th to find out what else I may add to that day's sale. It will be a great addition to all things fall!

Keep your eye out; tell your friends and family to keep their eye out so you don't miss a thing! Watch my FB page daily to see the next day's sale items, and visit the shop to see that daily extra special!

I want to add one more thing that I hope you all will pass on to family and friends: Thursday, November 21st; Friday, November 22nd; Saturday, November 23; Friday, November 29th; and Saturday the 30th. Then again, on Thursday, December 5th; and Friday, December 6th; Saturday, December 7th; Thursday, December 12th; Friday, December 13th; and Saturday, December 14th, from 10:30 am until 2:30 pm each of these days, I will be in my Studio at 106 N. Schrader St. Havana, IL. On those days, I will be selling dozens and dozens of retired samples of quilts of various sizes, from baby size to queen size. I will have table toppers, runners, and placemats. Over the years, I have given away quilts to families, friends, and my children's friends as they married and had babies. I have given quilts to fire victims and people experiencing homelessness. I have come to the realization that I have my kids and grands literally "covered up with quilts"???? I have a spare bedroom overfilled with quilts that are looking for new homes, and I would like to recoup some of the money I have put into them. Please spread the word; many beautiful quilts will be sold reasonably. If you have never been covered with a handmade quilt...then you have never known true warmth!

Have a great week, and I hope to see you around the cutting table at Ma's.
